Helen McCullagh is a contemporary Australian artist well known for her whimsical and painterly still life artworks.
Drawing her inspiration from both beautiful floral arrangements in her studio and images found their online media, Helen describes her artworks as a “dialogue between social realities with images chosen through social media feeds and reproduced in a new context to distort the distinctions of time and place.” Helen is strongly influenced by the modernists and more particularly Henri Matisse, Andre Derain, Margaret Preston and Fairfeld Porter.
Helen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Cross University. She is a professional artist who shares her knowledge and techniques as an art educator and previously at the Gallery of Modern Art. Her work is internationally sought after and regularly reviewed.
