Congratulations to represented artist Gabrielle Jones, on winning the Uni Southern Queensland Biennial Art Award for her piece 'Disordered Dream.'
The work was chosen from over 600 artworks from 316 artists from every state in Australia and the four judges endeavoured to identify work that represented the diverse artistic talent across Australia, choosing work of technical skill, originality and conceptual strength.
“I am influenced by the drama, movement and storytelling of Baroque art. This painting uses patterns and forms iconic to the period and speaks of the call and answer between then and now, and the emotion and struggle of painting”.
